Special Olympics Missouri has many reasons to cheer. The playing fields are crowded with more than 15,000 athletes and 1,300 coaches. Our signature fundraising event, held in cooperation with law enforcement, has expanded to three new cities. Our Healthy Athletes® program has helped more athletes than ever receive health screenings. The introduction of our Young Athletes program has extended the benefits of Special Olympics to children younger than eight. And our aggressive campaign to encourage the public to stop using the r-word is helping to break down barriers that our movement aims to eliminate.

While our progress is noteworthy, our needs remain great. The demand for our programs has never been higher. Missouri's population of individuals with mental disabilities is growing, yet we are able to serve only a fraction of it. Our outcomes are impressive Special Olympics athletes are five times more likely to hold a job and we recognize that our life skills training is much needed with increased life expectancy of individuals with Down syndrome.

We invite you to learn more about the progress and stewardship of Special Olympics Missouri, and consider ways to help us continue to make a lasting impact on our very deserving athletes. Be a fan of Special Olympics, and know that your support makes it possible for us to extend the life-changing benefits of Special Olympics to children and adults with mental disabilities.
